Art class for Adults

Fundamentals and Foundations of Art

A lot of art classes do art in a "Homogenous" way, meaning all the art looks the same.  This style of art doesn't really allow the artist to explore, and or express their own creativity.

We are now introducing a "Fundamentals and Foundations of Art" class.  These classes will be an all-immersive art experience exploring the fundamentals and foundation of art. The students will not only be exploring, engaging, and experiencing the different styles of art mediums, they will also be exposed to the many different famous artists we know today; Van Gogh, Picasso, Frida, you get the idea. This will allow them to experience the true meaning of being immersed in the fundamentals and foundations of art.

We will be offering art classes Monday-Thursday for kids and adults.  Friday will be for make up classes, and for "Open Forum".  Open forum is for anyone who didn't finish their work during class sessions and wants to finish it up.

ALL classes will begin January 12 and end on Feb 27 (7 weeks).  You can choose how many weeks and days you want to attend.  After the 7 weeks, we will do it again and add levels.

* Only requirement: You have to sign up for 2 weeks minimum, ANY 2 weeks.

We will be concentrating on two foundational skills: Drawing and Watercolors.

values & light

values & light

Have you ever wondered why a drawing, or painting looks lighter, or some are darker?  Why is that?

Value, in art, is how light or dark something is on a scale of white to black.  The highest value is white, and the lowest value is black.

You will explore the depths of value and light.

edges

composition

values & light

Watch for that edge, no, the edges in art, which shows the transition between two shapes of color.  You will explore how hard, soft and lost edges are used.

proportion

Proportion, how big something is relative to another object. This concept will vary with different styles of art, but, within reasonable proportion.
